Cognex FireWire acquisition software
FireWire acquisition for PC vision systems enables direct
connection of IEE 1394-compliant FireWire cameras to PCs running Cognex
VisionPro® or CVL® machine vision software. FireWire simplifies integration,
expands acquisition options, and allows customers to cost-effectively achieve
high quality digital images without using a frame grabber. Compared to
traditional FireWire implementations, the Cognex FireWire implementation is
optimized for the high speed typically required for industrial machine vision
applications. FireWire systems utilize the same application development
software, vision tools, and proven acquisition engine as other Cognex PC Vision
Systems. Additionally, FireWire cameras can be added to existing Cognex frame
grabber systems.
MVS-8600 Series Camera Link frame
grabbers
The MVS-8600 series frame grabbers combine Cognex industrial-grade
vision tools with high-speed, high-resolution cameras that support the Camera
Link digital communications standard. This provides Cognex PC Vision System
customers with fast processing of large quantities of digital image data. The
MVS-8600 frame grabbers support a broad range of area scan and line scan Camera
Link cameras. The MVS-8600 frame grabbers integrate on-board I/O functions and
triggering capabilities, eliminating the need for additional I/O hardware within
the host PC. By incorporating encoder inputs, the MVS-8600 series frame grabbers
simplify the synchronization of the vision system with line speed in linescan
applications.
In-Sight 5403 2-magapixel vision
sensor
The 2 megapixels In-Sight® 5403 vision sensor captures
full-frame, 1600 x 1200 images at up to 15 frames per second for highly detailed
inspection of fast-moving objects. The 5403 provides superior accuracy for
precision gauging, alignment and fine-defect inspection on very small parts. By
capturing images of larger parts or viewing multiple objects simultaneously, the
5403 performs inspections that formerly required multiple sensors. The 5403 can
also be mounted farther from the part while maintaining the required resolution
to provide working distance flexibility. The In-Sight 5403 meets IEC
specifications for shock and vibration and achieves an IP67 (NEMA 6) rating.

S-20 Illuminator
NERLITE S-20 Spot Illuminators
are cost-effective bright or dark field lighting sources for small field of view
applications. The S-20's single High FLUX LED with collimating lens efficiently
concentrates light energy to deliver maximum intensity from a minimal package
(38 x 35 mm). Designed for use with constant current power sources, S-20’s
provide stable light output for consistent application performance, increasing
application up-time and decreasing false errors. S-20 models are conservatively
rated for 50k + hour (5.7 year!) life expectancies to minimize system
maintenance requirements. Available in several wavelengths, S-20’s enable the
use of color to enhance image contrast.
SCDI-50 V2
NERLITE SCDI®-50 V2 (Version 2) machine vision Illuminators are
designed for applications involving highly specular surfaces where unwanted 'hot
spots' or dark spots cause noise in image processing. Increased light intensity
and a fan-free design for environments where airflow disruptions are not allowed
and/or where air born dust penetration is a problem distinguish the SCDI-50 V2
from earlier models. Available in a variety of wavelengths and with 12 or 24
volt continuous and 24 volt strobed power options. Application examples:
inspection of CD/DVD labels, solder patterns, blister-packed pharmaceuticals,
and IC's in tape.
LA-288
NERLITE LA-288 High Intensity Linear Arrays employ a focusing lens to
concentrate light energy from High FLUX LEDs onto a long, narrow field of view.
This design enables both high-speed applications where short exposure times
demand high light intensity and lower speed applications where ambient lighting
or light absorbing subject matter defeats lower intensity sources. Driven with
constant current controllers, LA-288’s provide long life with stable light
output for consistent application performance and up-time. With passive cooling
and sealed aluminum housings, LA-288's address installation requirements from
clean rooms to tougher production floor environments. LA-288’s are available
in several wavelengths.

SCHUNK Inc. – Booth 1131
PT-AP 70
SCHUNK has introduced the new
PT-AP70 servo actuated gripper. The PT-AP70 was specifically designed to make
difficult components such as glass, foam or sand molds easy to manage. The
direct current servomotor is coupled to a gear driven ball bearing spindle. The
fingers are guided with low friction linear bearings to allow ultra sensitive
fully controllable actuation. Grip force, stroke and actuation acceleration can
be dynamically controlled or controlled by pre-programmed parameters downloaded
to the gripper. In contrast to pneumatically actuated units, the servo actuation
is fully flexible. The gripper has 70 mm of total stroke with the capability to
produce 200N (45lbf) of grip force.
PT-AS 70
The new servo actuated rotary PT-AS70 is a direct current servomotor coupled to
a gear driven axis providing unlimited rotation capability. All of the rotation
attributes can be controlled such as acceleration, speed and deceleration. The
current can even be monitored to control or limit the rotational torque. The
rotary produces up to 23Nm (17ft.lbf) max torque with a nominal output of 7Nm
(5ft.lbf). Maximum velocity is up to 470degrees/s at an acceleration rate of
880degrees/s2. Repeatability is less than +/-0.02degrees under nominal
conditions. The unit’s overall mass is less than 1.7Kg(3.7lbf). The PT-AS70 is
an ideal match for the PT-AP70 servo-electric gripper allowing simple
plug-and-plan functionality.
EGN 100 / EZN 64
SCHUNK Inc. introduces a new series of servo-electric grippers, EGN 100, a
2-finger parallel type and EZN 64 of the 3-finger centric type. Due to the
integrated servomotor and encoder for position feedback, the grippers can be
actuated in either a force or positioning mode and it allows for adjustment of
the gripping force, position or speed. The EGN 100 gives a stroke range of up to
20mm and a grip force of up to 600 N (135 lbf). The EZN 64 has a stroke of up to
12mm and a grip force of 500 N (112 lbf).

Lasiris™ Reduced Speckle Line
Generator
StockerYale’s Lasiris™ Reduced Speckle Line Generator significantly
diminishes the speckle content apparent in standard lasers, thereby increasing
the accuracy of machine vision profiling applications. With its low spatial
coherence and spectrally broadband beam, the module provides low speckle noise
while maintaining tight focusing performance. The Reduced Speckle Line
Generator can emit red (680 nm) or infrared (810 nm) beams and is particularly
useful in applications such as high accuracy machine vision, 3D contour mapping,
biometrics and semiconductor inspection.
Model 12 - 4' HemiLite™ SFVI
StockerYale’s Model 12 HemiLite™ Spherical Fluorescent Vision Illuminator (SFVI)

illumination is required to detect surface defects on rough and/or specular
surfaces. This lamp assembly offers exceptional, flicker-free illumination and
is available in a 4” (101.6mm), as well as a 6” (152.4mm) diameter diffusing
sphere that incorporates an innovative lamp design to provide full hemispherical
illumination. The standard, high-frequency (25 kHz) driver is available as
a plug-in style for quick and easy setup, or as an in-line style for
applications requiring more versatile mounting configurations such as panel
mounting.
COBRA™ Linescan Backlight
StockerYale is launching the new COBRA Linescan Backlight, available in
wavelengths from 395 to 830 nm. Applications include the inspection of foil,
paper, non wovens, metal and currency. The backlight incorporates
StockerYale’s patented chip-on-board reflective array (COBRA) technology.
COBRA is an innovative method of creating high-power thermally-efficient LED
illuminators. Each LED chip is placed at the center of a sub-millimeter cup-like
metal structure, which serves both as an optical reflector and as a thermal
conductor. High packing density results in uniquely intense, uniform
backlighting.
